Choose Change a password … and change password according to your organization’s security policies. The standard Windows lock screen will appear. While holding down the physical and keys, click the key using the on-screen keyboard (illustrated as step 3). When the on-screen keyboard appears, press and (illustrated as steps 1 & 2) from your physical keyboard. The on-screen keyboard will appear on the Remote Desktop. To launch the on-screen keyboard in Windows Server, go to Start -> Run and type osk into the dialog box. After a bit of research I discovered that changing passwords is easier if you use the Microsoft Windows on-screen keyboard. Probably the most challenging thing I have to do is periodically change my password on customer systems. On a Mac laptop keyboard, press Fn+Ctrl+Option+Delete. The Forward Delete key is below the Help key. On a full-sized Mac keyboard, press Fwd Del+Ctrl+Option. If you are using an external PC keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Del. I agree that fn-control-option-rightArrow works for sending ctrl-alt-end. Select Virtual Machine > Send Ctrl-Alt-Del. Amazing how many people answered a question different from the one being asked, namely how to send ctrl-alt-end (not ctrl-alt-del) (needed for communicating with a windows machine via Remote Desktop connection). Type the IP address of the computer you want to control and enter the credentials of the account that you want to log in to the host computer. Press theWindows key and Rto open run box. Using the on-screen keyboard over physical one prevents clashes with the host operating system. You can use Ctrl + Alt + End to display the window on the remote computer to replace Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Most remote desktop applications come with an on-screen keyboard that allows for the input of complex keyboard commands. And of course the Mac keyboard adds its own spin to shortcuts. Procedure You can send the keystroke combination in any of the following ways. The best Ctrl + Alt + Del Mac remote desktop alternative is the on-screen keyboard. It works great, other than you have to remember that Remote Desktop keyboard shortcuts are slightly different than regular ones. Typically, I would access the VNC menu and send one however, I am not finding any way to do that within the Remote Desktop Manager window. I use a Apple MacBook Pro for work and do most of my client work using Microsoft Remote Desktop, either natively on my Mac or via a VMware Fusion VM running Windows 7. ![]()
